'Electricity is one of the most powerful forces in human life. Industrialization and modernisation has largely been facilitated by the use of eclectic power. Electricity’s role in the energy mix of any modern economy is even more critical and growing. Electricity is an extremely flexible form of energy, and has been adapted to a huge, and growing, number of uses. Therefore, the future of industrialisation and modernisation of the country depends upon generation of adequate power. A long term power strategy will have to be drawn up for putting up new projects and complete the projects in the pipeline anticipating the growth in demand to ensure uninterrupted power supply to industry and other sectors. Anyway. it has to be borne in mind that the power generation and supply of power have to be tremendously raised over the years to stimulate industrial development and modernisation of the country. Both the central and state governments have to initiate concerted efforts to raise production and remove inefficiency in the distribution of electricity on a war footing.
